Over on the Lansing/Audio Heritage site is a register of serial numbers. About 11000 units are registered, mostly JBL, with some Altec.
Is there a similar thing around for Altec?

I also note mention there that Altec records for such things were lost in a fire. Is that the case?
I think Barkomatic didn't want to support old stuff, so they said everything was lost in a fire.
Back in the early 80's bankruptcy a lot was just plain land-filled. Sad, and it's irreplaceable.
